The Reel Deal by Mia Summers
Big Star, Small Town #3
My Rating: 3/5 Stars
Primary Genre: Contemporary Romance
Blurb: It’s just me. Alone in a mansion with a famous Hollywood heartthrob. Pretending to be his girlfriend. Shout out to Grandma for getting me here. After Grandma hurts her ankle, she asks me to come home so I can take care of her VIP client. Clean his sprawling mansion, do grocery runs, the works. Turns out the client is Hollywood superstar Jake Leonard. That’s fine. I can handle the rich and famous. What I can’t handle is his vicious ex-girlfriend who shows up on his doorstep and demands to know who I am. I also can’t handle the way he puts his arm around my shoulders, the way he squeezes me against his side, and the way he tells his ex that I’m his new girlfriend. And oh yeah, we’re living together, too. I don’t want to play along. But Jake makes me an offer I can’t refuse. And the more I play house with him, the more I start to wonder if our fake relationship could turn into something real. The Reel Deal is a small town, closed door romcom featuring a Hollywood heartthrob and a delicious slow burn. You’ll get sizzling chemistry, lovable characters, but NO spice. Perfect for those who want a whole lot of sweet and less heat. It’s the third book in the Big Star, Small Town series, but the books can be read in any order.
Tropes:

My Thoughts:
The third book in this series and my third Mia Summers book. Jake Leonard was introduced in book 2 as Logan's friend in a toxic relationship and now he's the star of book #3. Delilah is taking care of her grandmother in the small town of Elk River after an accident that led to a broken foot. Grandma does housekeeping for Jake and Mia must help keep up his house as her grandma is out of commission. When Jake's toxic ex shows up, Delilah and Jake strike a bargain: She pretends to be his girlfriend to get his crazy ex off of his case while she stalks him in town for the next two weeks and Jake will help Delilah get her art into a gallery for a showing.
I think this book is my favorite of the series, honestly. I was so happy that there wasn't a huge focus on papparazzi, lots of beautiful landscapes detailed in the writing, and two really likable main characters. I even liked the element of the crazy ex Zoe, she's written very well to be despised. The descriptions of Delilah painting by the lake were quite lovely. Delilah's spunky grandmother Agnes is incredibly cute. My favorite thing about this book was that it didn't follow a similar formula to the first two. Very cute, closed door romance.
